A year later, he accepts my LinkedIn request!

I don't suppose a connection on LinkedIn really means much, just like being friends on Facebook can very well mean  you're nothing more than strangers in real life.  But shit, when someone makes you wait a whole year to accept your LinkedIn request, it's worth a visit to the old blog to celebrate.

I met my new LinkedIn connection at Legal Seafood's last summer when I was out with my boss for drinks.  The guy is a VP at a very large, well-known, sourcing-intensive private equity fund (you can probably guess if you know PE firms).  One thing led to another and he got me an interview with his firm, which I failed (I asked this +50 year old interviewer whether he was an associate or maybe a VP -- turned out he was the founding partner of the >20 year old firm >.< ).  Anyways, during somewhere in this time, I LinkedIn requested him and didn't receive a response.  I figured he hit ignore or w/e... but apparently he's been keeping it pending in his inbox for all this time...

This morning waiting for the rest of my group to come in, I randomly e-mailed him updating him on the new job, etc.  He replied, and I came home tonight to find out I have a new connection!!!

I like to think I've somehow become worthy to be his LinkedIn connection :-)

This plus the fact that today the vending machine miraculously gave me an extra Welch's fruit snacks makes today a very good day.

... I am so easy to please...
