I signed up for Rue La La hoping to develop some style without breaking my wallet and to give online shopping a try. Well, it's been a month and I haven't bought anything. A combination of not recognizing 99% of the brands and general complacency with the clothes I have mollified any desire to go shopping, let alone online shopping. But today, a brand that I do recognize popped up on Rue La La...Original Penguin

I use to have a sweater from Penguin. It was made with some expensive and extremely delicate material -- the kind that says dry clean only (I threw it in the washing machine all the time). Unfortunately, one day while wearing it, I accidentally brushed my shoulder against wet paint and ruined it.
So when I saw Penguin was having a sale on Rue La La, I was super excited to try and find the same exact sweater. I figured it would be great since it was a V-neck, and thus I could wear it over a dress shirt which would be both appropriate for work and when I'm out casually. Unfortunately, the similar looking sweaters were all sold out (10 hours after the start of the sale). Then I found a toggle sweater that I thought would be worth getting. It might be passable to wear to work plus it would be great in the winter. But alas, it was sold out in my size...
Online shopping is not easy! Well I suppose there will always be some other deal that'll pop up sooner or later. Till then, I'll just continue on with my current clothes :-\
they announce the sales usually a day or two in advance - you have to keep a diligent watch-out! all the good things are always snatched up immediately. I can't even count how many times I set my alarm clock to wake up for an early morning sale.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not a fan of ruelalala. . . gilt, hautelook, & editor's closet are my more common haunts, though lately I've spent a lot of time browsing tobi.com for fall clothes & jeans.
