My objective and rational thoughts on buying a phone

My friend, Ken, has an iPhone 4, but he keeps it in a case, puts protective shields on it, etc... when I got to check it out, it didn't strike me as remarkable. But today, the guy sitting next to me at the meeting had an iPhone 4, completely in the nude, lying on the table... and it was beautiful.

For the past six months I've been on a hiatus from smart phones. Sophomore year I was big on smart phones because I actually cared about being connected. By the time Senior year rolled around, I was ignoring texts, calls, and emails... and basically using my phone to surf the web when I was bored in class. So when my smart phone broke in February, I just opted for the piece of shit that I have now, because I hated all the functionality of a smart phone. Having gone through six months with a piece of technology that is over a decade old (my phone is my sister's old phone back in high school -- she's 5 years older than me), I'm ready to get reacquainted with modern technology.

Besides the iPhone, I'm seriously considering switching over from HTC to Samsung. I've had two HTC phones in the past largely because of Taiwanese pride (the only reason why I endured Windows Mobile), and even though now that HTC has the awesome Android OS, I'm leaning towards Samsung for its superior technology... and celebrity endorsements:

In all honesty though, Samsung does have the best technology. From what I've gathered, AMOLED is the best display technology available and Samsung is on the forefront of processor chips. Plus Android OS is on their phones so I don't have to deal with the frustratingly slow Windows Mobile.

Having said all that, I still can't get over how beautiful the iPhone 4 looks...
